So we arrived in Mumbai on the 22nd of May to once again rock the Blue Frog, which in my opinion is one of the, if not the coolest venue in India.  We had played there 3 times prior to sold out audiences so expectations where high.  This time since we were playing 2 nights in row , we decided to try something different as well. On the 2nd night instead of the usual live concert or DJ sets...we decided to present the "Enter The Dragon" Live score that we had been touring at festivals around the world.  This would be the first time we would perform in a club instead of the usual outdoor festival atmosphere.

In the past at the Frog, being that we have lots of super talented friends and colleagues in Mumbai, we have had guests join us on stage from Salim Merchant (Salim -Sulaiman) Monica Dogra and Randolph Corriea (Shaair n Func) and Naresh Kamath (Kailasa). This time however we performed with only the core band that we had been touring with consisting of Tapan, Gaurav and I , with Papon, Pt Ajay Prasanna and Amit Killam (Indian Ocean).  Since it was our sixth show on the tour, it was tight yet left room for a lot of spontaneous moments which for me makes a live show.   None the less we sold out and rocked the house the first night.  I got to feature some new material that I have been working on for my own upcoming release as well.

The second night became a challenge.  In the past our Enter The Dragon show would be presented on giant LCD screens for audiences ranging in the thousands. This night would prove to be a challenge since we were projecting on a small stage sized screen and 12 other smaller screens.  I think that we realized as the show started that screening a film with long dialogue moments and non musical cues might be difficult on a Saturday night in a standing room club in Mumbai and we were right.....Although the crowd reacted positively to the mix of sparse electronica and kung fu magic..They began to grow restless during the non musical scenes as some hecklers began to scream for music.  After the screening , Groovio took to the decks and rocked the crowed with some aggressive breaks and Hello Hello remixes.   As has become tradition our evenings end at good friend Salim Merchants place where we wind up in an inevitable jam session with some of Mumbai's finest musicians.  As they say...This town ...is a make you town and a break you town. We always love rocking it in Mumbai and look forward to the next big gig.
