Unquestioned Bollywood royalty and someone who has begun to dig all the crunchy Guns N' Roses riffs, Kareena Kapoor life is rocking right now... and how. Blender India has the juiciest scoop on her

Kareena Kapoor has reached that stratosphere of gravity-defying success, where the hits and misses don’t really matter. When your body weight makes headlines as much as your body of work, you know you’re there. Born into Bollywood royalty, the once catty Kareena, full of spunk ‘n’ fire, has grown into a poised yet powerful supernova at the end of the decade – more mesmerising than ever.

One of the highest paid actresses in Bollywood, Rajkumar Hirani (director of the Munnabhai series) has granted her wish of working with Aamir Khan by signing her on for his comic caper, Three Idiots – a casting coup that catapults her into an even higher orbit.

Well, no matter what, we’ll always be curious about Kareena. Here, she steps out of the heady haze for a bit to tell us what life is like on Cloud Nine, where, courtesy Saif, she’s discovering heaven of another kind in the riffs of Guns ‘N’ Roses.  

How do you manage to live a life on the go? You’re shooting between Los Angeles and Mumbai for Kambakth Ishq; performing at all major awards, picking up awards and shoots and spending time with Saif.
I can’t begin to explain how I’m managing all this! After Jab We Met, that’s more than one and a half years ago, I’ve been on the run. I must have met my niece, sister and parents for hardly four hours in this time. My dad said, “I’m going to put a stop to all this. What is the point of all these awards and adulation if I don’t get to have one meal with you.” I’ve promised him quality time post June.

You were the recipient for the award for woman achiever of the year, which you received from the environmentalist, Erin Brokovich.
It’s a special award to win, especially when you know that a famous personality is flying down to give it to you. But, I would like to add here that I still think it’s too soon for me to receive this award. I have a lot more to achieve.

You supposedly take your ‘youth icon’ status very seriously. Why the pressure?
Oh, that is a responsibility! I need to be cautious of every step I take because young girls are watching and following me. In just a period of one month, I have got all these awards and now there’s the FICCI award too. It’s great, but at the same time I haven’t been able to enjoy them. I get all dressed up and go to collect these awards and the next moment I know I’m jet setting for another assignment.
