Michael Jackson tries to stop auction on his collectibles, Neverland

A financially troubled Michael Jackson put 2,000 plus valuable collectibles and artifacts on auction, including his ranch Neverland. Now as he moves a US court to stay the auction, his plea is dismissed

There is trouble in Neverland, where Michael Jackson's life is on auction. Everything that the King of Pop has collected, had custom made, specially ordered, ever bought or has been presented is being auctioned of, and the fans can now be privy to his inner most secrets. The auction that will take place in April, has been organised by celebrity memorabilia specialist Julien's Auctions.

However, in March Jackson filed a legal law suit in Los Angeles claiming that Julien's Auction house had stolen his property. The "Dangerous" singers artefacts that are going on auction include a 1911 Grosset and Dunlap edition of "Peter Pan: The Story of Peter and Wendy," by J.M.Barrie, MJ's custom designed white spandex, right-hand glove completely covered in clear Swarovski crystal loch rosen crystals, an oil on canvas portrait of Michael Jackson dressed as king, signed and dated 1995 by Norman Oak (American, B. 20th Century) and a basketball inscribed to MJ from basketball star Michael Jordan.

Just weeks after the financially-troubled Jackson sold Neverland to a company that owned the mortgage on the property and which now plans to redevelop the 1,100 hectare ranch, Jackson's plea has been thrown out of court by a US judge. All 2,000 items and the ranch are going to be on display from February onwards in a highlights tour that according to Julien's will visit major cities worldwide.

The auction begins in Los Angeles on April 21 and bids will be accepted in person and online. Jackson plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to MusiCares, a charitable organisation founded by the Recording Academy to help musicians in need.
