Review: Take That - The Circus

Like a flashback from the 90's, the new Take That album The Circus is everything you would expect from them, even though it's sans Robbie Williams

Poster boys of British pop, who ruled the world throughout the Nineties, and rose to a level, which gained them that arguably envious spot of being dubbed as the biggest music act after The Beatles to have conquered the world stage from the UK – that is the kind of legacy Take That endured in its heyday, and as with all good things, though they did break up, it looks like the reunion isn’t going to be a party that isn’t going to make big news waves.

Minus Robbie Williams, the remaining four members have released The Circus, amidst much fanfare and anticipation, and the album proves itself to be pretty much everything that you would expect from them, err, maybe not as much though if you though you would relive the Nineties though.

How can it be possible that we have a Take That album, which doesn’t croon about love and loss, and the subsequent collection of weeping buckets (Said it All)? Love speaks again on Julie, an inspirational track, and as we move towards Greatest Day, you get into the foot tapping mood of enjoying conventional boy band pop. It’s a different thing though, that the feet stop when your mind realizes that they aren’t boy after all anymore to be still making boy band pop.
