Lamb Of God's new album Wrath disappoints no one but the critics. Check out this pounding dose of destruction

Legendary rock-metal sensations Lamb Of God have unleashed upon their 'fallen angels' another outburst of hardcore aggression with their Feb 24th release, 'Wrath'. After nearly two years the Virginia based quintet is back with their fifth studio album, promising us it's going to be their best ever. But can these ostensibly political thrashers live up to their own claims? Lets find out...

Wrath starts of with the short and sweet instrumental The Passing, where the boys experiment with acoustic guitars before progressing into heavier, more layered guitar sounds. Into Your Words takes off with full force, grabbing our senses with their usual unleashing of powerfull and catchy riffs. Singer Randy Blythe, also tests his vocal dynamics on this one, showing off his new, strained, higher pitched scream.

Set To Fail, the first single of the record is a really fun, hanging around the parking lot, throwing beer bottles kind of a song, you know, those ones with a really rowdy kind of groove to it. Contractor is the closest Lamb Of God get to punk rock, very political, very brutal, very in your face. It starts of really fast and guranteed to get the mosh pit burning with rage.

Fake Messiah is a really straight-forward and personal song about how money gets into the way of friendship. Grace is an unusual piece starting with melodic guitars that eventually bursts into the typical Lamb Of God explosion one would expect; it's a song about self-empowerment so listen and learn.

Dead Seeds works really well live, it's textbook Lamb Of God, no suprises, no tricks, just straight up, hard-out fun. Everything To Nothing is another standard track written about drug abuse and feeling the pain of those who suffer around us. Reclamation is the last song on the album and is a musical and lyrical masterpiece.

On its own, the album is a brilliant piece of emotional release and works really well in this day and age. Perhaps the album did not take the band to the phenomenal level they would have hoped to attain, however, all in all, it's worth a listen. So go check it out!
